CGI U announces 2013 speakers; CGI University Network to fund student commitments

Former President Bill Clinton and Chelsea Clinton announced the program and featured participants for the sixth annual meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U) to be held at WUSTL April 5-7. In addition to Bill and Chelsea Clinton, Stephen Colbert, Nobel Prize winner Muhammad Yunus and WUSTL’s Michael Sherraden are among the featured speakers.

Men’s basketball team hosts NCAA second round March 9

The No. 17 WUSTL men’s basketball team will host No. 10 Illinois Wesleyan University in the second round of the 2013 NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Championship Saturday, March 9, at the Field House. Game time is 7 p.m.

Baths with antiseptic wipes reduce ICU infections

ICU patients who are bathed daily with antiseptic wipes have significantly lower rates of bloodstream infections and are less likely to acquire antibiotic-resistant bacteria on the skin, according to a new study from researchers including David Warren, MD, medical director for infection prevention at the School of Medicine.

Butter believe it: Engineers Week inspires current and future engineers

The annual Engineers Week, held Feb. 25-March 2, featured activities ranging from a paper airplane contest to a butter-sculpting competition to a lecture by cast members of the Discovery Channel’s “Mythbusters” television show. Read more to see video and photos.
